We Love Tesco . . .

Tesco, Eaglescliffe.

Our Local Tesco

Poor old Tesco is in the wars at the moment and, according to the Guardian, which never says anything nice about them, can do nothing right.  We however keep on shopping there and have no complaints.  I think it might be true that there are less customers about, but then I usually go there at non peak times.  It would be very sad if they quit this little store – and who would come in their place – another Aldi perhaps.  My own personal opinion is that (the much vaunted by the Guardian) Aldi and Lidl stores are not a patch on Tesco.  Contrariwise, we shopped at the big Morrisons at Morton Park, Darlington, in this last week and were astounded by the range of items on sale in the vegetable department.  Suddenly all the activities we see on TV cooking programmes made sense, because all the things they talk about so glibly, which we never see on sale, were there in spades.  Local shopping (so advocated by the aforesaid Guardian) is OK for day to day stuff, but insufficient for the trimmings.
